Dear Readers,

Welcome, Letter to the world! ๐ŸŽ‰

I'm so excited to finally share my latest project with you all - an app called Letter(beta)! As the solo maker behind this product of love, it brings me great joy to introduce you to this delightful little world of kindness and compassion.

Letter (Currently in beta) is a mobile app where you write requests for kindness and reply to others. It's cute, anonymous, and moderated.

Inspiration

I've noticed how the big social media platforms aren't really designed to spread love and empowerment. In fact, they often incentivize the opposite - negativity, outrage, and disengagement. It's disheartening because digital connection has so much potential for good. With Letter, I wanted to create a space worthy of your time and energy - one that grows compassion in your life. If it's not for you, no worries! You can easily delete everything and move on.

I've invited a couple of my close friends to test alpha version of Letter. It's been a privilege to have so much interest, praise, and support from them for my work. I got into a zone to spend some more of energy and time to this app. I don't take it lightly when I've got responses like this ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿฝ

Humble steps

And thus, the seed for Letter was planted. A mobile app allowing you to anonymously write requests for kindness from others, and reciprocally shower compassion through replying to those in need. No harsh judgements, no personal identifiers - just an open sharing of our struggles, hopes, and warmth.

Does that mean Letter can solve your deepest pains? Of course not, my friends. This is no replacement for professional counseling (though I hope it may inspire some to seek such support). Our humble aim is simply to create heartfelt ripples that you might carry into the rest of your lives.

Care taken

Now you may wonder, how does one craft such a compassionate app experience? With tenderness and intention at every turn, I assure you.

Before diving into design, I spent time researching the need and desire for this type of experience. I surveyed folks, analyzed similar "kindness" apps, and looked at pain points with mainstream social media. A few key takeaways:

Then, through an interface focused on warmth, whimsy and simplicity. A soft oceanic color palette to soothe the soul. Friendly, rounded typography that beckons you to share openly. Delightful touch points like gently animating envelopes opening to receive your heartfelt messages. And certainly, we didn't forget the crucial element of feeling safe and cared for.

At every point, Letter aims to create a sanctuary upheld by empathy, openness and your control over the experience.

Journey So Far

Of course, this app didn't just manifest overnight. Over months of low-fi mockups, prototypes, and iteration after iteration, I rolled up my sleeves to thoughtfully craft Letter's experience.

I can't tell you how many wonderful participants joined us in those feedback sessions - sending open, vulnerable responses, walking through flows, pushing me to greater clarity. It was a mighty privilege to have their candor and insights shape Letter from mere idea to living, breathing reality. You can test the Android version from Amazon Appstore.

So That's Letter!

Whether you love it, hate it, or have Qs, I'm here to listen and make it better. As the solo maker, I truly appreciate all your interest and support so far. Can't wait to keep growing this lil compassion app with you all! Thanks for being part of the journey.
